Text messages
The opt-in screen
This is the screen on which an employee agrees to receive survey invitations by text. It is reproduced below in full, from the same code that renders it in the product, so nothing here can quietly fall out of step with what people are actually shown.
Where it appears
Every employee invited to a survey gets their own private portal, at a web address containing a key unique to them. The opt-in sits on that page, among their surveys and company updates. Nobody else is shown it, and nobody can opt in a number other than the one they type into their own portal.
Because that address is private by design, it cannot be published here. A working portal belonging to a demonstration employee is open instead, so the flow can be exercised end to end:
Live demonstration portal
https://cairnhr.ai/p/demo-sms-optin
A real portal running the production code, belonging to a demonstration record that is never sent anything. Scroll to Surveys by text message to reach the opt-in.
The form, exactly as it appears
Live and interactive — tick the box, untick it, press the button — but connected to nothing and saving nothing.
Surveys by text message
If you'd rather get survey invitations as a text than an email, add your mobile number below. Each message contains a link to an anonymous survey and nothing else.
This is optional and entirely your choice — it is not required by your employer, and if you leave it off you'll simply keep getting surveys by email. Expect only a few messages per survey. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any message to stop them. Reply HELP to any message for help.
You can skip this section entirely and carry on using your portal — nothing here is required to take a survey or to see anything else.
What the consent covers
The checkbox is never pre-ticked, and the form is submitted by one button that is never disabled: leaving the box unticked and pressing it is a complete answer, recorded as email only. Agreeing is not a condition of employment, of using Cairn, or of taking a survey, and the screen says so. Declining changes nothing else about the portal.
The sentence beside the checkbox reads, in full:
“I agree to receive employee survey invitations by text message at this number. I understand this is optional, that message and data rates may apply, and that I can reply STOP at any time. I have read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.”
Consent is recorded against that one person with the moment they gave it. CAIRNHR will not send a text to anyone without it, and numbers are never bought, rented, or imported from any third party.
The rest of the programme
Who sends the messages, what they contain, how often they arrive, the cost disclosure, and the STOP and HELP keywords are all set out on the text message programme page.
